About Jazz Australis
Jazz Australis is the cool new breed of Australian Jazz. They are quickly carving a niche as a band that connects with the listening public through a unique blend of classic Australian rock songs and cool jazz. With a sound rich in texture yet unobtrusive, this versatile ensemble is just as at home playing a corporate function as they are a private residence. The band is made up of experienced players who began their musical adventure at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music.
They have featured at a number of festivals including the Noosa Jazz Festival and Brisbane Valley Jazz Festival, and performed for high profile clients like Her Majesty The Queen, Reg Grundy, Sarina Russo, Kevin Rudd, Peter Beattie and the Premier’s Department, and Government House.
Jazz Australis has supported acts like Vince Jones, Monica Trapaga, Glenn Shorrock and The Little River Band, and Vanessa Amorosi just to name a few. They have recently collaborated with twenty-four-year-old William Barton, who is today recognised as Australia’s leading didgeridoo player. The band performed for Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II during her visit to Brisbane.
