MIRUSIA SHARES A LIFE IN SONG WITH HER NEW AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL CONCERT AT KEDRON-WAVELL

Mirusia presents her new show and #1 charting ARIA album, Songbird at Kedron-Wavell on Sunday 18 September at 3pm.

This concert follows her life’s journey in song that traces her humble beginnings from an aspiring young Queensland singer of Australian and Dutch heritage to international soprano sensation touring stadiums with the “King of the Waltz”, André Rieu and a collaboration with Australian music royalty, the original members of the iconic band, The Seekers.

From her personal songbook, she performs the music that has been most inspiring on her journey to become one of the world’s favourite classical cross-over artists and shares the stories behind the music. This show will include beloved classics spanning many genres and feature songs from her new album Songbird, including contemporary hits such as The Greatest Love of All, The Long and Winding Road, Jolene, and Fleetwood Mac’s ode to love, Songbird.

Mirusia says “this concert and new album features mostly songs I’ve not performed or recorded before, but have always wanted to share with my audience – some songs that are dear to my heart and of a personal nature, and others that have played a pivotal part in my rich and blessed career to date.”

“In a series of fun (and sometimes revealing!) anecdotes, I also tell the stories behind these songs. Such as Whitney Houston’s hit song, The Greatest Love of All. It is the song I sing to give myself strength to overcome any hurdles and block out the noise of naysayers. And you know what, I think it has worked!”, added Mirusia.

Songbird is an unforgettable concert and accompanying album by one of Australia’s greatest musical exports, featuring the songs that made her – some of the most beloved songs in existence today.
