The Queensland Government has opened applications for the first round of the 2026 Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF), with grants of up to $35,000 available to support community organisations across the state.
Kedron-Wavell and The Sands Social are proud contributors to the Gambling Community Benefit Fund, which plays a vital role in strengthening Queensland communities. Funds generated by Kedron-Wavell, The Sands Social, and other community-focused clubs help enable the GCBF to operate as Queensland’s largest one-off community grants program.
The Gambling Community Benefit Fund delivers more than $60 million in community funding annually and continues to grow in popularity. The recent $100,000 Super Round set a record for the number of applications received. In the most recent funding round, nine not-for-profit organisations located near Chermside and Sandgate were successful recipients.
Attorney-General and Minister for Justice and Minister for Integrity, Deb Frecklington, said the strong demand for the program highlights the meaningful impact it has across Queensland.
“Whether it’s a small charity, a much-loved footy club, or a service operating in one of the most remote parts of our state, every dollar awarded from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund helps support the important work these organisations do in their local communities,” the Attorney-General said.
“No matter the size of the project or idea, I encourage all eligible not-for-profit groups to consider applying for a grant in Round 126. How good would it be to start the year with a $35,000 boost for a local community initiative?”
Each year, the fund supports not-for-profit organisations to deliver a wide range of community projects, including:
- Renovating community facilities
- Running local events and training programs
- Installing solar systems and shade sails
- Upgrading essential equipment and vehicles
Applications are now open and will close at midnight on 28 February 2026. Successful applicants will be announced in July.
