Christmas Comes Early for Queensland Community Groups

Christmas has come early for hundreds of not-for-profit organisations across Queensland, with more than 500 groups sharing in over $31 million in the latest round of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF).

Kedron-Wavell and The Sands Social are proud contributors to this vital fund, which plays a significant role in supporting and strengthening communities throughout Queensland. Funds generated by Kedron-Wavell, The Sands Social and other community-focused clubs have helped enable grants of up to $100,000 in this round of funding, providing essential resources to organisations that often rely heavily on volunteers and operate with limited budgets.

Closer to home, the Gambling Community Benefit Fund has delivered much-needed funding to a range of local groups and organisations, including:

  • Albany Creek Pony Club
  • Ashgrove Meals on Wheels
  • Aspley East Kindergarten & Preschool
  • Aspley Special School Parents & Citizens Association
  • Aviation State High School Parents & Citizens Association
  • Brisbane Hockey Management Group
  • Geebung Meals on Wheels
  • Mitchelton Pre-Schooling Centre
  • Mitchelton Youth Club

The Gambling Community Benefit Fund is Queensland’s largest one-off funding program, distributing approximately $60 million each year to support local initiatives, strengthen communities and respond to grassroots needs across the state.

In addition to supporting the GCBF, Kedron-Wavell also delivers a range of benefit programs with one highlight being its own annual Community Grants Program, providing $200,000 to not-for-profit organisations that make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families within our community.

Applications for the 2026 Kedron-Wavell Community Grants Program will open in April 2026. We encourage eligible organisations to keep an eye on our website for further details as more information is released.
